Lazarus Consulting Limited, the media business consultancy, is delighted to announce that it has signed the hugely influential group Zohar, who it manages and represents, to Miles Copeland’s newly launched LA-based “CIA” record label for North America.

The brand new album entitled Do You Have Any Faith? is completed and is scheduled for release in North America later this year. It will be the first major album release on the CIA record label.

Zohar is fronted by Erran Baron Cohen, the multi-talented Ivor Novello nominated songwriter, who has also recorded and produced many songs for film and TV companies, including the forthcoming Borat movie soundtrack.

The album builds on Zohar’s reputation as underground pioneers of the oriental inspired jazzical influenced dance scene that produced the legendry Buddha Bar compilations, Thievery Corporation, Dhizan and Kamien, Gotan Project and many others. Zohar’s debut album “one.three.seven” was released by Miles Copeland’s Ark 21 label in 2001 to critical acclaim.

The new album features many exciting collaborations. The amazing voice of Tunisian Paris-based singer Amina Annabi (who also starred in the epic The Sheltering Sky) sings beautifully on Une Ange en Paix, which also features the haunting oud playing of Nabil. Legendry Buddha Bar DJ Claude Challe features on Survival and the powerful kawali voice of Riffat Sallamat make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up on the haunting Raga.
